“They give meaning to my life”
Ryuhei Matsuda is one of Japan’s finest young actors, known for his roles in films including Taboo and Nana. From Tokyo, he discusses the moments that have defined him, that have made him who he is.
— My Defining Moment?
"For example, when I went to the Cannes Film Festival 17 years ago, it was certainly a special moment because it felt like I was getting a fresh start. But to me, defining moments are ones that connect people. It can be music or anything, but sometimes I seek some sort of non-linguistic connection, and I often develop an excessive appetite for those kinds of things. But I always want to maintain that feeling. To me, those are the most stimulating moments, and I think they give meaning to my life."
